Most imagery we encounter from Sub-Sahara Africa are either illustrating stories of hunger, warfare and disasters or depicts wild animals and beautiful sceneries. But although facing many challenges Sub-Sahara Africa is also a region of immerse opportunities and change.
To capture and spur this change a visual reframing of Sub-Sahara Africa is needed. A reframing that reflects African enterprise, innovation and everyday life as well as the diverse artistic expressions from the region. Africa Reframed exists to create and promote this new imagery believing that by changing the visuals we can help change the conversation.
Africa Reframed work with a wide range of activities and partners creating and promoting new visual storytelling from Sub-Sahara Africa. Though our workshop activities we engage local photographers in the creation of commercial and fine art photography and offer them to tap into our sales channels.
Our ongoing Exhibitions ensures international audiences the opportunity to engage with new work from a powerful Sub-Saharan art scene on the rise.
